Just weeks after Baby Bank Network was shortlisted in the Bristol and Bath Women in Business awards, our charity was also revealed as a finalist in the Green Volunteers awards.
The nominations and subsequent shortlistings recognise the great work Baby Bank Network is doing within the local community to tackle child poverty and promote reuse.
Women in Business Awards 2016
We were named as a finalist in the Contribution to the Community category at the local Women in Business awards. Founders Eva Fernandes and Becky Gilbert will attend a ceremony in Bristol on Wednesday, thanks to the generosity of Renishaw and Computershare which both paid for us to have a spot at their table.
Green Volunteers Awards 2016
We are excited that we have been nominated and one of the 1/4 shortlisted for the “Resources” award for the 2016 Green Volunteers Awards. The awards, run by the Bristol Natural History Consortium which organises the Big Green Week, recognise the work undertaken by volunteers tackling environmental issues.
The awards ceremony for the Green Volunteers Awards is being held in Bristol next Tuesday (March 22) and is being attended by both co-Founders and so either volunteers. Fingers crossed!
Eva and Becky said: “It’s lovely to be shortlisted for these two awards and we are humbled by the community support we’ve been receiving, but even more satisfying than this recognition is knowing that we’ve helped over 150 babies in need with items they might otherwise go without.
“With growing overheads and items such as new mattresses and teats to buy did not feel we could spend money on attending awards ceremonies so are fortunate to have two brilliant local businesses take us along as their guests.
“It’s been an amazing journey so far and we’ve had so much support from people Bristol – we couldn’t do what w do without you. So thank you!”
