Last year Starbucks ran its #RedCupCheer initiative in partnership with neighbourly.com to give small and local charities across the UK the chance to compete for grants of up to £1,000. This year the coffee giant and the social media network have teamed up once again and asked 200 charities, including Baby Bank Network, to get involved! The campaign invites charities to make social media ‘noise’ through their supporters via Twitter and Neighbourly using the #RedCupCheer hashtag.
The charities with the most social media support by 6 December will receive a Red Cup Grant of £1,000, with runners up receiving £500. The more noise we can make on Twitter the better the chances are of us securing the top grant. And we’re doing well so far! We can count our very own City Mayor, George Ferguson, as one of our supporters. He tweeted his support for us last Thursday. And big up the fantastic Unmumsy Mum who has also RT’d her support. While the very lovely Sarah at shcsocialmedia.co.uk and Bristol twitterati, Bristol Mum, have been RTing our tweets too.
The cash will be an invaluable. We’ve just moved into our new premises and thanks to Local Giving‘s Grow Your Tenner campaign last month we secured six months rent with your support. If we were to win the full £1,000 from Starbucks and Neighbourly it’ll cover a further three months, guaranteeing our premises beyond our first anniversary, which would be a fantastic birthday present.
How can you help? Easy! Sign up to Neighbourly and follow Baby Bank Network Bristol. And if you’re on Twitter, Tweet using @babybanknetwork and #RedCupCheer and RT our other supporter’s tweets. If you’re not signed up to Twitter, do it today and get tweeting – if you need some help, just ask!
Watch our progress and check out our noise level on our neighbourly page and please sign up if you haven’t already, every follower counts and we need you! We’ll also be updating page with photos and other events.
Thank you so much for all your support.
